Qbit torrent won't open magnet link4/13/2024 There is also a setting Tixati Settings > Transfers > General > Auto Start/Stop > Start New Transfers which might be worth experimenting with as they might have a bearing on the issue you raise.Posts must be related to the discussion of digital torrents My guess would be that "Start All Transfers" should be sufficient to start new torrents that you added to the queue outside of the times set in the scheduled task.) (I'm not sure as it's not something I've ever had to do myself, but you might want to check if, when setting up the scheduler, it is necessary to have both "Start All Transfers" and "Start New Transfers" included in the scheduled task. If you don't want the torrent to start immediately then just click on the "Stop" button (instead of the "Start" button) - the torrent will be added to the torrent list but will not auto-start. When you add a new torrent you will get the "Load Transfer" dialogue window. I would have to select it on the list, and stop it. Give Tixati a try it is really, really good.įelemur wrote:So, for example, if at 11am I was to add a new torrent, it would start downloading - even though that is outside the time they were to run. Or, or course, you could just set the system to never allow auto-suspend. Workarounds that I know of to get round this problem (until the bug fix is implemented) is to install and use the "Inhibit Applet" in Mint to prevent the system from shutting down while Tixati is running. This bug has been reported into GitHub and a fix was coded but it probably won't be implemented until Mint 18.0 For details of the bug see here: Bug: Tixati v2.28 - Doesn't Prevent System Suspend Mode That said, for just now, there is a bug in Mint that prevents Tixati from preventing Mint going into Sleep/Suspend mode. If you run into problems use the Help & Support pages and if you don't find your answer there then use the Tixati Forum - it really is worth the time investment to learn the basics. Just take the time to learn a little and you won't be disappointed. Tixati is brilliant, by far the best P2P program I've ever used, and its scheduler is a work of art - extremely configurable. However, I found it WAY to complicated to use and stopped using it. Still, it is the best overall client I've used on Linux Mint 17.3 from my experience and based on my needs.įelemur wrote: Tixati is the most powerful, in that you can configure it to do most anything, including picking files. If qBittorrent would fix that and make it 0 in off hours, I would say it is nearly perfect. Why oh why they would make it like this I can't guess, but if my calculations are correct, that means if it were running 24/7 I would use 4Gb of bandwidth per month in the hours I didn't want it running - from 9am to 2am. It will go as low as 1 KiB/s for both upload and download, but not 0. You can schedule it to slow right down in the hours you have less bandwidth, but you can't set it to fully stop. However, there is one small annoying issue. In the end, I ended up with qBittorrent for a lot of small reasons - easy to set up, easy to use, reliable and stable. Tixati is the most powerful, in that you can configure it to do most anything, including picking files. I've tried to figure this out, including getting help on the Deluge forum, but no luck. However, after an update, the scheduler doesn't seem to work all the time making it pointless. And, until a couple of months ago, it was my go-to torrent client. I've tried about half a dozen torrent clients to get things working right, and here is what I found:Īlthough the scheduler speed limits do work in Transmission, I have found other issues with it, and stopped using it.ĭeluge has a plug-in scheduler that is perfect - the most user friendly so far. I have the same issue - from 2am to 9am I have no limits, but am very limited from 9am to 2am.
